Everhart City

Everhart City

Golden Pony. Sign is a golden unicorn. Serves elvish spirits and only plant-based foods, with no meat on the menu. The owner is a half-elf.

Merchant King of Everhart City. Merchant King is a network of taverns that operates in several regions. In Everhart City it is staffed by elf-dwarf hybrids who make use of the magical banking network of temples and shrines of Vergadain. The food and rooms are good but not great, and guests can expect roughly the same quality and rates at each establishment, which travelers and merchant caravaners appreciate. The construction is half-timber, and a banner outside the front door features a laughing image of Vergadain in yellow, on a red background. The main attraction is that guests can pay using their Vegadain accounts, which draw upon treasure deposited at any branch of the main temple in Red Roost. They can also make small deposits or withdrawals from their accounts at any Merchant King tavern (with a limit of 100gp per day; larger amounts need to be handled at a temple or shrine of the dwarven god).

Pür Lyfe of Everhart City. Pür Lyfe is a network of low-cost taverns that operates in several regions. The taverns are known for their bare-necessities approach to lodging and meals, with prices set at a level that barely renumerates the operating costs. In Everhart City the tavern is staffed by elves who take a vow of poverty before joining. All of their material possessions are donated to the tavern, and they receive no wages for their service there – just living arrangements. The staff live simply, with clean robes of homespun linen or leather, and eat the same simple meals as the guests. During their off-duty hours, the staff typically have some charitable activity that they engage in. One may make clothes for the poor (using tools that belong to the tavern). Another may roam the city’s streets, looking for refuse to pick up. Another might care for the children of other staff (their families also are permitted to live in the staff quarters, as long as both parents are staff). The tavern has no actual owner; the “proprietor” also has a vow of poverty and merely administers the tavern in the name of the “Pür Lyfe” organization, which owns the property, building, and its contents.
Any excess in incomes or donations from one establishment are sent to the central office located in Everhart City (a building adjacent to the tavern there), where the funds are administered by other members, who likewise have taken vows of poverty. All members are organized loosely under the leadership of the founder (who also has a vow of poverty, and therefore does not own anything). The central office has a “rainy day fund”, which the organizational charter says cannot exceed what was needed by the organization in its worst year on record. Excess funds above the “rainy day” fund go toward an expansion fund, which is used to establish a new tavern whenever the expansion fund reaches 2,000 gp. Each Pür Lyfe tavern is dedicated to a different patron deity of travel. The tavern in Everhart City is dedicated to Mielikki.
Graceful Swan - a white-painted ferryboat that resembles its name. The boat glides forward through the water without any apparent force driving it forward. The mode of locomotion is in fact a type of alchemical enchantment similar to magnetism, built around three stones that have been split in half. Two halves of the same stone (one on the shore and the other built into the hull of the boat) pull the vessel toward the matching half when activated. One half of each of the three stones is built into the hull of the ship, along the keel. The other halves are located 1) on a dock just northeast of Everheart City, 2), on the the northern bank of the Yarth River nearest Everheart City, and 3) on the eastern bank of the Stone River, nearest Everheart City. The Graceful Swan can hold up to 20 two-legged passengers and another 10 tons of cargo. Fares are 1 sp per person, 5 gp for a cart, and 10 gp for a wagon. Horses are free with carts and wagons, but unattached horses are 2 gp.

Petals and Flora - The owner's name will be Rosali Pireta who is a half elf. The shop specializes in non magical perfumes that can be enchanted by an enchanter. The perfumes use all natural ingredients and are in handcrafted bottles.
